N.E. Chickenstock 2011!!!!!! Who's up for it??

Ohhhh are you not taking the kids

I may have to reconsider then...

No, no, no....this is my get-away. DH will stay with the boys and I will run away for the weekend! In all fairness, DH asked how old your son was, thinking our boys could hang out but I told him this was a no-kids trip. It's like taking the kids to a museum, you can never stop and look and read, kids just want to keep moving. This is MY trip!

can't wait!

I'm just wondering if anybody would be interested in some Turken/mix chicks or eggs for the Chickenstock.

Poppa is a Naked Neck & I believe a Black Copper Maran mix. I have several different kinds of hens that are laying now, including my EE/BO mix, Salmon Favorelle, Turken Frizzle, Bearded Turken, White Silkie Turken w/ black skin, production RIRs, Cuckoo, Splash, Buff, Partridge Silkies, Amber Links. Fertility has been good so far - my Turken rooster is a mating maniac...

You can PM me if you are interested! Thanks!!!

WOW! I just read thru this thread. Didn't realize this was THIS BIG... and me only 20 minutes away.
Guess I have to come. And I suppose I have to bring the DH, 'cos they reeally are HIS chickens!

btw... anyone realize the Berks County Ag Center is running backyard poultry classes the next two weeks? We are going because he listens much better to the cute young instructor than the old farmer gal.

Steph, I will bring whatever you need me to bring- food wise.
I may have some EE and/or blue orp chicks /youngsters depending upon how well my incubator adventures work. I'll get in touch further when I talk to you about that black EE roo in a month.
My daughter has a batch of assorted cochin banties from last September. Who knows how they may mulitply until the end of May. She has a dozen various roos now that she is looking to rehome.

Sarah... that blue roo I got from you will be finding a stew pot after I get some chicks unless you want him back.
