Hi guys! Just wanted to check in and let you know I'm still here

I started a new job and have been working... A lot. Actually, I'm working at my local TSC... Good and bad all at the same time!! I'll be getting up to date tomorrow, and will be adding new updates on the chickenstock

Still on the duck hunt...anyone have adult Khaki Campbells for sale and/or Cayugas that lay black or very dark eggs?
Thx,

Well, my hatch this week was dismal... I had one get out, and it died.

One pipped and died, and the other pipped and never made it out, I tried to help it, and made it worse.

Not sure if I will have anything hatch out, I have my incubators in the basement, and my husband keeps burning stuff in the wood stove. I told him the last time not to, that every time he did that the temps spiked and I had to run down there and fix it. My thermometer broke, so I had to go find some cheapo thing lying about the house, one was too cold, one looked "eh" and the one with the duck eggs and Quail eggs? 110. AND my broody Silkie decided last night she wasn't sitting anymore, and her eggs were cold and dead.

I do have some Coturnix Quail, only I was debating about keeping them (since I keep killing those too! They keep breaking their necks in the cage I have them in...

I have about three dozen eggs that I moved to the hatcher, I don't know if anything will hatch, since they were in the bator with the temp spike. I could come up with a dozen+ eggs if anyone wants them, 6.00 for the dozen. Mine have some nice size, I *do* have one sad little white hen left in there, so you might get Tuxedos, the white male broke his neck last week, of course!

I also will have an extra Mexican Speckled Male Quail for 15.00, I *might* have like 6 eggs too? 10.00 for 6+ (Mexican Speckled are like the Snowflake Quail, but brown based. You can breed them to Snowflakes and get Splits, and breed them back for the Snowflakes so you can get more genetic diversity... Or at least, that is my plan for them here!)

I also will have a Proven Tort Lionhead doe (Pedigreed) available bred, $35 and a Tort LH Jr doe (Pedigreed) for $20.

I have two "Easter Egger" chicks that are month old, one is a partridge color, the other is a dark partridge. They're like Mutt and Jeff, one is big, the other is small. I'm not really sure who they hatched out of, since I *thought* I just had Cochin eggs in that batch, and they must have been from the one "extra" Mutt hen I had! :O 3.50 each, they might be Pullets...

I'll update later next week if anything makes it out alive out of my incubators... I should change my name to Chicken Killer or something like that!

Oh, and I'm also looking for a Drake, I'd like either a Buff or Cayuga.

Or Buff Ducklings, or Buff Eggs. Puhleeeze???

Both of my Buff girls are now broody, and were sitting on unfertile eggs! (I stuffed chicken eggs under them when they got up, LOL)

Hi everyone. Thanks so much to all of you who PM'd me, posted on this thread or the life stories thread that Patty started, said a silent prayer for our family and my son, or just sent out random positive thoughts into the universe. All of it was sincerely appreciated and made a difference to me while I dealt with the pain of losing my son. Don't want to hijack this thread again, just wanted to send hugs to my friends on BYC. Thanks, you are all wonderful.
