N FL Chickens & Chicks feeling Hot

Another hot day here in north florida, seven thirty four p m currently eighty nine degrees in my area... my girls are not laying very many eggs and nothing. I do seems to help them in their heat struggles right now. But I went out there and they showed me some love, and I got lots of pictures.

We've had a couple of hot spells with 90s and high humidity. I have wetted down the dirt in the chickens' run and they have made dust baths in the damp. I put my hand down in one of the carved out bowls, and it was cooler.

I give them frozen watermelon to peck/eat too. They like that.

I have to admit... I read the title of your thread as "NFL chickens" and wondered about chickens being mascots for a football team.:gig
