Hi DonkeysandDucks, I used to live over in S'port long time ago. My brother was stationed at Barksdale for several yrs & currently have a sis living in Blanchard.
Nice to have yall & this is the best place on the web to talk & learn about chickens.

Jen here, southeast corner of Arkansas, bout 60 miles north of the Louisiana line. It gets so hot here in the summer, how do the chickens survive?

Another one here from central Louisiana!!! LaSalle Parish to be exact....so I know where Grant. Rapides, and Avoyles Parish is! It's great to see so many people close by! I just started getting into chickens about 2 weeks ago or a little more. I have 6 RIR, 5 Barred Rocks, and 2 Silkies. We are having a ball with them so far!!
Also I know there was someone on here asking about places to by chicks....we got ours at Petrus(sp?)Feed on Bolton in Alexandria and also that small feed store in Ball. The prices are good at both places and the chicks seem healthy!
