Hey all,
So I've got cornish x that are between 5 and 6 weeks old. All of them are pretty much feathered out except 1. It's hard to explain but his back is completely naked and its wings aren't fully feathered either. It has looked like this for last 2 weeks. Everybody else lost their fluff and feathered out but not this guy. Any ideas what could be going on? I do have a picture.

Hi there, welcome to BYC! :frow

I've hatched hundreds of birds and seen this slow feathering in about 2 or 3.. appears to be a genetic anomaly IMO, obviously undesirable for breeding. But mostly irrelevant to meat birds.. exception being if you have a set harvest date.. plucking pin feathers can get tedious... maybe less so on meaties than heritage breeds.. but getting it right is the difference (for me anyways) between easy going harvest and uhgg, how many more?!
