I have 2 easter eggers. About a week ago I noticed blood smeared on outside of some of my green eggs. Now I notice that one of them is loosing some of her feathers around her vent. It doesn't particularly look red but several of the feathers are getting "caked" w/ feces and some are certainly missing.

Thoughts??
Maybe I'll try and get pictures tomorrow.

Usually this means there is some kind of mite or lice infestation. Check during the day, very, very closely, you may see tiny flesh colored bugs running but you have to be quick to see them. Also check at night with a flashlight. Some mites only feed at night and will hide in the coop during the day. This is not uncommon.

Could also be a feather picker between them. My roo will pick the feathers off the girls bums if I don't keep the very point of his beak trimmed off.
