Naked Neck Injury

I have an 8-week old Naked Neck (Turken) and today I found a rather big gash on her lower neck. It didn't look like she had been attacked, it almost looked like the area just split open. Almost like it tore. So I was wondering if Turkens' necks tend tear or get easily injured? Or if maybe this was the result of pecking? (We have a rooster who is about 4 months old, and he sometimes has a rather aggressive way of keeping the chicks in order.) Thanks!!

I don't know about Turkeys but our roosters always grab the hens by the neck before doing the nasty. If her neck is naked that could be why there's a gash. A predator would have killed her if it had gotten that close.

if the wound is bleeding you need to stop the blood or the others will kepp on pecking at it making it worse. do you have blu kote at home or can you get some?
