Naked Neck with “ghoulishly” green legs

I’m far from an expert on genetics.
Anything I’ve learned was here on BYC.
Still learning...
One thing I’ve picked up is that white birds can be either dominant or recessive.
I think black is too?
I just thought those colors along with your pullet would be cool.
Most showgirls I’ve seen are white.
Perhaps a white Silkie roo would work?
If you’re not breeding them to SOP (standard of perfection) to show, just for yourself or interested buyers, it doesn’t really matter as long as they’re healthy.
Hatcheries do sell many Silkie colors but they’re not sexed; straight run only.
I’ve seen buff, partridge, black, white, blue, splash.
But since you’re looking for a cockerel getting a pullet or two is a plus maybe?
They are just adorable!
My Silkie (that’s her name) never runs or struggles but when I pick her up for cuddles she seems so bewildered.

You may want to try finding a breeder in your area or check Craigslist.
Any birds you bring in that aren’t day old chicks should be quarantined away from your current flock for 30 days.
I would also read up on chicken parasites (mites, lice) so you know what to look for if you’re buying older birds.
Thank you so much. I’m going to contact @Alabama Fly (haha, just did) to see if she can help with the Silkie find. I believe she raises them and isn’t too far away from me. Oooh, I can’t wait. Eeek!
