I have Naked Neck hens with dry, peeling skin on their necks and crops. I have tried different creams, vitamin E, vaseline and aloe vera gel with no results. I feed them good quality layer feed, black oil sunflower seeds, vegetables, greens, cabbage, and some mealworms for a treat. Their coop and run are covered so very little sun is coming in. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can put on their necks or add to their food to help with this problem? Thanks

Hi,

I have naked necks too. I haven't had this problem, but I might be able to help.

Every two to four weeks I add sulfur and amino acids to the drinking water. I also use Apple Cider Vinegar. Give on each change of water when they are moulting.

My girls have a choice of sunshine or shade in their coop and run. So where you coop is covered, try to let them into the sun as well. They like it a bit warmer than other chickens.

Chickens like meat, fruit and vegetable. No citrus or onions. I never give them a poultry mix bought already mixed. I buy the food separately and mix my own.

Plenty of water should be available to hydrate them.

I hope this helps
