I hear ya. I've run in the yard with house shoes when the males were trying to kill each other. Came in handy to toss at them
. They've since settled down and get along pretty well now, but I keep my yard shoes by the back door ready for action now.
Call them in a day or so to inquire about it, if they're on the fence about hiring you, showing you're truly interested might tip the scale in your favor. Fingers crossed

Lots of very knowledgeable beekeepers here. I'm still a newbie. It is a very rewarding hobby.
We started looking into it before chickens, but I'm petrified of getting stung! Love honey bees though. Someone in my neighborhood must have them, because I'll see them here and there. We have tons of native flowers around the property for them to utilize. Very docile.
