Name that GENDER - PLEASE

In image NUMBER 2 you will see in the background our ONE roo from the batch - - - BLACK and WHITE chick.

He was bigger and stranger looking than the rest from the very beginning.
He has had pinkish pea comb for FOREVER.
He has a shorter tail - - -looks like he forgot how to grow one - - - its shorter and rougher looking.
He was the only one out of the batch to be white color too.

I'll try to get some stright on shots of the combs tomorrow.

The feathers themselves are not pointy on these gals. The striping on them makes them look pointy.

The only one that is a little iffy is #1, but I'm sticking with pullet.

Generally the buff ones with the partridge like lacing are girls. If they were males they usually have the columbian look going on - black in the hackles and ends of the tail feathers only.

All excellent info and good to know!

THANK YOU - - pips & Peeps

You must of responded while I was typing my response about OREO - the black and white chick who is a rooster.

I have 8 EE's and I am going to keep 4. They were all suppose to be pullets - - - but OREO is clearly roo.

I want to make sure my FAVORITE three are girls.

The chick in the second photo had me concerned because she is built different. She has a taller and thicker neck than the others. She has always been my warning bird. Pick her up and she tells the world to RUN RUN RUN . . .

i would say that all 3 are pullets. the shape of thier feathers look just like my girls(the lacing makes some of the feathers appear pointy but i do not think they actually are)

Here is another view of the first one - - - the iffy one - - - see if it helps.

She had a BLACK face as a baby. When her feathers came in, she lost the black face and looks like she does now. I mean her WHOLE face was black. We had named her black face and then one day - - - no BLACK FACE - - go figure !
