I've had this, in my garden, for some time, but recently, noticed that the chickens seem to like it. It tastes, very much, like raw spinach. It is low growing and shallow rooted, so it would be an excellent ground cover for intensive gardening...Simply start your plants, in pots, and transplant, into the beds.

Are there any plant experts, who might give this a name, just to satisfy my curiousity?

My yard is covered in it in the springtime before the Bermuda grass greens up.

Funny, I don't remember my chickens having a particular taste for it last spring....or maybe there's just SO MUCH of it that I can't tell where they eat any! lol

one of the best basis for a wild salad! spring is almost here and will be picking morels soon enough.
