That's the problem with both dogs and horses. Right about the time you get them trained the way you want them, they're showing their age. (My wife says husbands are the same way.)

I've known a few great danes and it seems they were all named after medieval people or Arthurian Legend. THe one I remember most was Minerva. I just LOVED her! Of course, that's a female name, so it doesn't help you very much!

I do like Lancelot, Arthur, Baudwin, Merlin, and King. I LOVE the name Galahad though! There is a whole website I found of good names from all of those King Arthur legends! Here ya go:

I like all the names you suggested in your first post. I cant think of any but where do great danes come from? That was a great idea whoever mentioned that you should name him after a landmark from his country.
