Names for our new peeps

Great idea's everyone!!! Whoo-hoo! I like the two-some idea because they stay with their own kind for now. Probably has more to do with age then kind but still.

You rock. Have you been told today how cool you are? I love history nerds and I love all things Viking.............I even organized a Viking day at my kids school complete with re-enactors battling and a huge working trebuchet.......
I usually name the chickens after whatever book the kids and I are reading at the time.....the 15 or so Wizard of Oz books have been a good source...

The kids came up with some wacky names for our chicks for sure. The black and white Arucana is Penguin, the 2 lightest of the Brahmans are Butterscotch and Creme (short for creme brulee), another pair are Click and Clack since they go everwhere, then there are Scarlett and Melanie, Gwen, who has tufts of feathers at her ears, don't know where that one came from

and of course Chicken Little, because that's exactly how she acts, she won't come out of the coop without first sticking her head out and looking at the sky. The rooster is Rex, so named by my dinosaur loving son, and has really lived up to his name! So maybe a mellow name for the roos from now on...

Whew!
Glad I'm not the only one who picked food names.
looking at all the lovely, poetic suggestions here I was feeling guilty for naming 3 of them:
Salad,
Noodle
&
X-tra Crispy

The other 2 are named:
for a kid I worked with - I feminized Mark to Markena
and
a friend who insisted I give my Houdan his Drag Name: Misty Cologne
