Naming your chicken

I have an EE hen with a crest I named Enid. I like naming hens after songs so I can sing the song to the chicken. I looked up the lyrics to "I can't help myself" because I thought the guy was singing about a girl named Enid. But instead of singing "Enid of my life," he sang "in and out of my life" Oh well she is still Enid.

I have a little D'Uccle named Sunshine. When the flock gets to go out free ranging in the evenings, she's always the last in. Often I can't even find her, she's so tiny and camouflaged. So I sing Ain't no Sunshine when she's gone...usually she'll show up when she hears me and scurry in.
Recently I submitted her pic for the BYC 2019 calendar ....if it gets chosen, I'll change her name to Calendar Girl...I love I love I love I love my Calendar Girl.....ooooo Calendar Girl. She'll like that song better.

This chick of mine and another was in a mag. and my avatar was in the local paper, people called me for her eggs, which I didn't have any to spare, but it was cute. My avatar's name is Greyslyn, and my sugar bowl chick was Sugar, of course.

I have learned not to name them a name where you can lose them like clementine, or bonnie...
