Hey guys. I have been surfing the web and reading through old threads for an hour and finding some conflicting information about crossing turkeys.

I have a narragansett tom and about to get a black Spanish hen. I saw on a few posts that crossing a chocolate tom to a black hen would produce chocolate hens and black Tom's 100% the time. Is it the same with my Naragannset? A lot of the posts just confused me with all the genetic codes people were writing.

Thanks for any info.

Breeding a Narragansett tom to a Black hen will produce sex linked offspring. All of the males will be Barred Black and all of the females will be Light Tipped Barred Black.

Unfortunately I suspect that the color difference in the poults themselves will not be enough to tell the sexes apart at an early age.
