Nasal infection from gnats...spreading to eye infection. Help its kill

Is it the same animal as the black fly I always hear about in New England? Wonder why I've never encountered those in my entire life.

Still, if they have a discharge that smells bad, I'd say Coryza.

Cynthia, yep thats them.. Im sure you have them there, I know they are in Mid Tenn..I'd say if you live within a mile of running water you have them, If you dont consider yourself lucky..And true about the discharge, And if it is B. gnats there will be blood on the comb and wattles

Wow, guess I'm lucky never to have encountered those. I live near a little creek, but just never had gnats like that. If Vamp's birds got Coryza from a swap she attended or some other way, the smell would definitely draw flies/gnats like crazy.
