We go to the auction here in north florida all the time. There is a AG inspector there to check the animals health,if they are not healthy they do not come off the truck. If the cage has no food or water they don't get sold. They must be in wire cages not dog crates and they must have alot of ventilation. If you are selling goats they must be tagged and horse, mules must have negative coggins. They are very strict here. Sometime the handlers aget alittle rough but nothing like you described. Last year we went in July and they moved the animals under the trees as it was cooler for them. They went around and gave fresh water to every cage as well. The newest auction to open is run by a auctioneer group they also auction off real estate as well as cars, antiques etc. They are even stricter than most A good auctioneer will not let things get bad You are a good example you said that you won't go back. How many others feel the same way. I still don't buy started birds because of bio security but I enjoy going and have bought eggs and day old chicks.
