What do you mean "aggressive" and what are wellies? At that age a rooster is feeling his hormones and will grab a hen by the neck and try to mate. He may not really know how to do this yet and not get the job done at all. Unless your hens are loosing feathers, or have sores, I'd leave them be. He may chase the girls and they may run like crazy too. They all need to learn to live together, the girls learn to submit and he will calm down in a few months!

Wellies are wellington boots in England, sorry about the confusion. There are sores on a couple of hens and I lost a hen last week as she had a massive sore that unfortunately had gotten infected. Going get him into his own bachelor pad tomorrow til he grasps more mature skills

I don't think there is a rooster on earth that likes rubber boots.

Mine are pink too. He's not bothered if I have long trousers on its when I wear shorts he has a melt down. Then again, he may not be impressed with my legs!!!

Cockerels will be like that for a while, but soon he will become more docile toward the hens. I’m not sure about separation...buy some hen saddles for the hens definitely if you don’t separate.

I'm not so sure that this is going to end well. No cockerel that I keep would cause actual injuries to any pullets! It's too rough, period. Not genetics I want in my flock, and not okay to hurt any pullets or hens, ever.
He'd be sent to freezer camp here. There are so many nice boys out there! He's not one of them.

Good news on the Jeff front. He's a lot calmer now and so are the girls. He even let me stroke him a few times , although I think he'd rather I didn't. Thank you to all those who replied... Didn't want to face getting rid of him
