Native Quail

DH said when he was fixing our house, there was a bobwhite that would come and visit him in the kitchen. I figured it was from the neighbor who trains dogs. Probably was, but it's nice to know that bobwhites are in the area. I'm in SE/SC wisconsin, so will probably never see any. Does anyone know if the DNR has ever talked about bringing them back? In my WI bird book, they weren't even mentioned.
