Natural Incubation - What is a good broody breed?

That is the coolest photo I have seen in a long time. Everyone here had a good chuckle, thanks!

Yeah I was thinking giant cochin might be a good one, anyone have experience with those?
I'm really not too fond of my silkies. I do have a banty mix that is the best mom ever but she is too finicky to be a foster mom and also she is so dinky.

Pheonix, really? Are they flighty?

One of my bantam frizzled cochins has just gone broody and I was debating about letting her hatch some eggs. So, it's good to here InsaneBreeder has good luck with the same breed. I've taken eggs from her the last couple days and boy was she ticked. She was sitting on several from my other girls which none of the others seem to care about the eggs after they're laid.

My best broody would have to be my Game fowl...then my OEGB....and third Speckled Sussex which too hens hatched one clutch together. Talk about getting a double whammy if you messed with those chicks.

I have no experience with Cochin, but they look like they could hatch some eggs.

My Australorp hens are going broody as I write.
Nellie has already hatched her clutch of four and Martha is sitting on 11 eggs.
Phoebe is getting grumpy and protective...so I'm sure she is next.

I have 24 year-old hens and 13 of those are Australorp, 4 are Delaware, two Easter Eggers, and 5 are New Hampshire Reds.
Only the Aussies are going broody...will see about the others.
