Nature is cruel

Moved a tarp today and out ran a small mouse. I knew the girls were fast but it reminded me of 5 T-Rex dinosaurs chasing some small creature. I might be soft a know it happens, but I saved the poor thing. There was a height pitch squeal before I got to it but it did run off. Just wanted to share my story.

Lol i have one in my coop and i was running around with a axe.

Chickens kill and eat mice......My Pullets found a Mouse nest this summer while free ranging.....They ate all the babies....They will chase down a Mouse and eat that also.....

Yep.My chickens eat Snakes,Frogs,Fish and mice.

Funny stories! I must admit, I have never felt sorry for a snake until I saw one after my girls had their way with it.

Chickens will eat anything they can catch that doesn't succeed in eating them first. Such is the way of the world. I hope your birds don't resent you for spoiling their fun.

I had a cat catch a mouse in the chicken coop once. The chickens chased her around until she dropped the mouse and ran away, and then they chased each other!
