nature is weird

how come all my male pheasants have molted out into some stunning looking birds
and now they are courting the hens ,who have no interest at this time of the year

I hear ya Chris....this has been a strange year, at least with my birds. My Red Golden is a freak or just a sex addict. Even now he won't leave the hens alone for a second! If I had to dance around,

all day like he does, I'd keel over.

Yeah, I had a terrible year with my amherst pair. She laid early and I only got two fertile eggs out of that clutch. Guess by the time he started getting interested she quit laying. Now for the past two weeks she has been laying an egg every other day. I had put them in the incubator just to see since I was desperately wanting some young ones, but of course they haven't been fertile.
