Lately, I’ve been getting into a different type of nature photography. Normally, I use my telescope. This time, I’m using my microscope.

What I think is a Basophil

This was interesting. What are all the neutrophils doing in one spot?

I guess this is a different form of nature photography.

Looks like the neutrophils are attacking an invader. Cool pic of the mitosis, and seeing cells dividing.

If you think that’s interesting, listen to this interesting true story.

I’m going to warn you all, the details are a tad graphic, but no graphic photos.

On July 12, 2022, I had a very big lump in my armpit. I was getting ready to go to the doctor, because it just kept getting bigger. One day, it popped. I took the opportunity to put some of the gross stuff on a microscope slide. What I saw was very interesting.

A grape-like cluster. I thought to myself, “do I have a staphylococcus infection?”

Then, when I got to the doctor, he took one look at it, and said, “you got a staphylococcus infection.“

I then showed him this photo, and told him what happened. He said that he was impressed that I knew my bacteria and cells, and this proves that I had a staphylococcus infection.

It was an interesting experience.
