Nature Photography

Every single photo I got Tuesday night is out of focus, because I was hurrying before my battery died 🫠 The colors are gorgeous though.

I had a bunch of culls too. Just a little off, but not good enough for me. Manually focusing on pinpricks of light at a distance in the dark is a skill, for sure.

This is actually decent, though, Abs. Yeah, it's a little off, but it still captures the moment just fine.

Also, semi protip. If you do a lot of shooting in the dark like I do, spend a couple minutes in daylight manually focusing your lens in and mark it with a white sharpie at the optimal "infinity" point. The printed marks on the lens don't always line up, but if you mark it, you can easily set it in the dark and reset it quickly if you bump it.

And keep a red light lamp or flashlight in your bag. Doesn't mess up your vision if your eyes are acclimated to the dark like a white light will.

Good advice. I had quite a few out of focus before I finally realized it and corrected.

I guess I didn't miss much all the way down here. It wasn't looking too promising at 6pm and I had been awake for 34hrs so I decided to crash, lol. I got up at 11 and 2 and checked, but it looked like it never made it to G4... oh well, fun while it lasted.

Yeah, I monitored it until 10pm my time or so and it never got strong enough for me either.
