Went outside and grabbed a quick shot of the sun. I looked, but couldn't figure out which one released the CME...

G3 geomagnetic storm in progress, chance it can escalate to G4 and have Aurora borealis farther south. It’s clear here, so I’m gonna try and photograph it tonight.
I'm keeping an eye on it, but it needs to be sustained and active to hit me this far South.

Guys, did the CME or solar wind hit on or around 12:00 PM mountain time today?

I ask because spaceweather.com said it was possible for solar wind to hit today.

Plus, this happened right in the middle of a playing session today at 11:55 AM mountain time.

I’m getting interference from somewhere, but I can’t figure out where. I’ve ruled out every other possibility. This has never happened before. The only thing that can explain it so far is that something like a CME or solar wind just hit earth.

By the way, this is a theremin. A musical instrument you play without touching.

Anyway, I figured I would ask here because you guys keep up-to-date on space weather just like I do.

If something did hit, let’s keep our eyes peeled for Aurora‘s.

~10 minues after that, yes.

Nothing significant though, and aurora forecast is slight unless you're on the poles.

How the heck did my theremin pick that up?

I guess it’s more sensitive than I thought. That’s pretty amazing to me.

Thanks for letting me know!
I mean, could have been some more local RFI too. I wouldn't think a theramin was sensitive enough to be impacted by a low level proton flux. Having said that, I have NO IDEA. :)
