Our brooder is a homemade job, 2x4's and wire. It is somewhere around 18 inches high maybe? I keep it covered at night, but don't really bother during the day yet. Well, I went to check on the girls and miss Zoey was standing on top of the feeder!

You know the typical round, one quart deal. She just looked at me like, what is the big deal!

I tried to get my iphone out to get a picture, but she realized she was in trouble and flew down! Little stinker! They aren't even 2 weeks old, or maybe right at 2 weeks. She just barely stands 4 inches tall and she is already perching on top of the feeder which is a good 8 inches off the floor! Time to make a more permanent lid I guess!

You might want to work on that lid. Yesterday I found out that my ~3 week old TT can fly out of a 3 foot tall box!

I had no idea they would get so big so quickly. Best of luck with your chicks and brooder!!

Ha! I'm having the same problem... My 3 day old cochin is trying to jump out of the brooder. So far, she hasn't succeeded, but in a week or two she'll be flying all over the place (even though she's a fat little stinker).

Oh, yes! I have an australorp that flew out of her brooder at 2 1/2 weeks. And with the most innocent looking stink-eye too!
