It is definitely a learning experience, hard as it is. We have had 3 broody hens. 1st one sat on those eggs faithfully. One busted and ruined the whole batch. They all died in the shells

. 2nd broody got tired of sitting and quit after 14 days

. 3rd broody sat on 6 eggs. 3 hatched out. We gave one away. The other 2 and mama are in my avatar pic. I hope your remaining chicks make it. If mama hen is not doing her job, I would grab those chicks up and put them in a brooder box with a light. Good luck. Please keep us posted.

Yeah I am concidering pulling them... she is good to the one that is living but the others died still wet under other eggs she piled on them. I dont have an incubator so I cant bring the eggs in, I think she just squashes the ones that are just barely coming out.

An update 4 chicks have stayed alve and momma is doing great! We even had 7 other flock members break into the littles pen and she protected them fiercely !!

We have Burpster, Skid, Scooter, and Blue blue is a sex link so we know he is a boy
