Hello! I'm new and I'm excited to be here! 
I'm just about finished planning the 10x10 coop we're going to be building for our 17 baby chickens that will be coming the end of May
I can't wait to share it with you all once it gets going!

Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes and no. I have never owned them, but I've spent the past 5 years learning just about as much as I can while we planned our move to 3 acres to build a homestead. I held a chicken (two, actually!) yesterday and it was the best feeling ever.
How many chickens do you have right now?
17, coming in May!
What breeds do you have?
Silver-laced, Columbian, and Golden-laced Wyandottes; Blue Andalusians; Rhode Island Reds
What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Being around such a wonderful species of bird all the time! Eggs are great too.
What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading, knitting, painting, video gaming, hiking, gardening
Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a wonderful husband and an almost 8 year old boy. We have currently just our dog (11) but are soon going to add all manner of animals (chickens, ducks, rabbits, quail, goats, bees, mini cow)
How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've actually been a member a while ago (wasn't as active then because I wasn't even close to chicken time.) I always love to come and refer to different threads in the community for advice and laughs. Glad to be here!
