NC/VA/SC/GA Chicken Meet UPDATE: pg 15

What you would be "contributing" is yourself!! Please come, just to make new friends, it will be so much fun and the list is growing and growing so you will get to meet alot of great folks!!! We are all at differenct stages of our chicken raising so no one will be left out of any conversation I'm sure...so newbies and oldbies, everyone plan to come that is nearby!!

Banty sounds like maybe you should tell them 50 or more, its always easier to have less than more. they should be able to tell you when they need a final count and another nice thing is that we can all pay our own way, no splitting out tickets....

this is going to be FUN!

please come new people, it will be a great time to talk and learn, then you won't be new anymore, we will all be old friends!

Hi everyone,

In case anyone is not up to date on location and such, here's the latest:

Reservation is made for February 23 at 12:00 noon for 40 people at the following location:

Golden Corral
4201 New Bern Ave.
Raleigh, NC 27610
PH #. 919-231-6905

When you get there, just tell them you're with the BYC Group.

I have to let them know a definite # of people by Feb. 20th, so if those that aren't sure right now would PM me and let me know by Feb. 19th, that would be great.

They do not have any discounts but they do have coupons circulating in newspapers.

They are putting their other party in a private dining area and hopefully putting us in the main dining area so we won't be rushed to be out by any certain time.

Thanks again for all the interested people who are making this happen, and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask them.

Another thing, to all the new people out there, please don't feel that you have nothing to offer and won't fit in because you're new.
I've only met one other member here and there are plenty of people that have never met anyone here, so we're all in the same position.

Looking forward to meeting all of you and remember to bring your cameras.

Corey,

I'd say we're eating and chatting first.
This way we know who everyone is before we start swapping chickens.

It would be easier to buy/swap if you're buying/swapping with the right person.

Then if anyone has to leave early, they can swap at the appropiate time.

My dad is still in denial about the fact that he is going but go ahead and put me and my dad (Tom) on the "for sure" list. He just doesn't get that he doesn't have a choice in the matter. I haven't even told him that there will be about 20 chickens in the back of the car.

lol, I don't know who is coming with me. Be sure and add an extra person for me. They don't need a name tag, just a seat at Golden Corral. It may be my cousin, she is a member of byc too but doesn't ever come on here anymore.

What do you think Tammy about Sandra's quesiton on the turkey pullets? I would say, in for a penny, in for a pound..bring 'em on!!!!!...course I may get you in trouble, I am alittle overjealous sometimes, lol!..so, what do you think Tammy?

Sorry guys, I've been gone a little while...watching my day 20 eggs.

Bring 'em on Stacy. Ducks too.

If you have anything to sell or trade, bring it on.

I actually talked to a manager yesterday when I made the reservations and I told her what was going on, and she said she didn't see any problems with the chickens as long as they were contained.
I wouldn't think turkeys or ducks would be a problem either.
