Stopping in to say Hello to some newbies, since I have no chickens to take care of for the moment.

I will just Mother you all at random.

You have found the most incredible resource, and people here at BYC.

Anywhooo, I am still in coop building stage. I jumped the gun and got a few chicks, but learned the hard way that "chickens dont get colds".
So back to the planning stages, kinda where you are. My hubby AND teenagers are less than thrilled with this chicken idea. Oh well, they will get over it. None of it is stopping. I am planning to have hatching eggs shipped to me in September for a restart.

I don't have many answers for you in regards to the coop meeting expecatations of your town's requirement, but I have found that just the chicken wire/hardware cloth alone is going to run me about $300. I am closing in our gazebo as a run (S. Florida), and putting the small hen house in the middle of it. I think you can see that in my signature or on my profile page at the bottom.
