NE Oklahoma Chicken Stock - Let's Plan!

ok, you got the posts set, how big of an area- lets put our heads together and figure something out for you!
not all coops can be put together in a day or so it depends one the size. remember ther are some things you will need and extra set of hands for. some times holding boards and putting in screws on your own can be frustrating. If all gets to much just grab a beer and take a min then get back at it. Never and i say never give up. If you need extra hands just let me know ill find my way to ya.

been there- my banty coop was thrown together by me- what supplies do you have, how many chickens? lets figure out a basic coop... mine is basically a box with a door- not pretty, but desperation put it together

I have about 20 or so 2 x 4 X 8's, some 4 x 4 posts and 3' x 50' of hardware cloth. I have already set my 2 posts 12' apart where I want them from the shed. I have 2 X 4's scabbed on the wall of the shed to come off of. Lots of screws all sizes and a rickety old ladder. I want to build it against my shed which is 12 feet wide on that side and split into two seperate pens and eventually build a run.

I can build a run. I just can't cut anything.

Oh, and I have 8 4'X 4' pieces of plywood. If you remember, I couldn't fit them in my SUV so I had them cut and they wouldn't fit anyway. LOL

My original brilliant idea was to build a lean to off of the shed. It would be 12' wide, open to the South. I also have a storm door I can use but not sure I will use it. I wanted to split the pen so each one would be 6' wide and about 7' foot out from the shed. I have 16 chickens, two different breeds. 8 are young and in the house with me and 8 are outgrowing their small pen outside.

If I don't get my coop built, I may be selling out at NEOCS!

I am soooooo frustrated. I can't build! There, I said it!

Some parts will go smoothly and other parts will be all spiky and annoying. I agree with whoever said to have a beer and relax. Sometimes I have to just stop working on the coop and think about it some more till I figure out how to do the next part.
