NEAR STATE COLLEGE PA? we need your ideas!

The weekend after this coming one, the 28th, we are coming out your way to visit my in-laws. They live in state college, in a continuing care community. They are in very poor shape, at this point, and the trip is hard on our kids for many reasons, but we need to still visit.

We can't stay with them and we are really tired of wasting our money and time on boring, yucky motels.

SO; do you have a spare apartment, a spare room, a friend with a b & b, a friend with a farm? We are open to just about any possibility. We only need a night or two, and would gladly get out of your way promptly in the a.m. We would pay, or help with chores, or open our home to you someday, or whatever you'd like.

But there has GOT to be some nicer way to make these visits than staying in the gross corporate chain motels and blowing tons of money to do so.

Anyone have any ideas?

hmmn - not exactly overflowing with responses, are we?

Do you have room, know someone who does, or know a friend who needs to make a few bucks? We're not all coming- just two friendly adults and two chicken-loving girls.

But do we REALLY have to stay at the Ramada again? We'd much rather do something nice for fellow chicken lovers or their friends, than for an ugly hotel owned by a faceless large corporation . . .

One last try and then I'll leave this alone. Maybe I'll have to start a new kind of service for just this sort of thing. Hmnnn.

i dont know anyone but I do know there are many nice B&Bs in the area. Not sure how close your looking, I know of at least 2 in Bloomsburg which is right off I80 about an hour or so before State college.

THis lists several, Boalsburg is a nice historic town right outside State College and would be more away from traffic.
