Nebraskans Speak Up!!! NEBRASKA ROCKS!!

Did you catch him?
Nope! My hubby and I tried for an hour. Even set up a fishing line to shut the full of food cage from our window. Nope. Then I tried a fishing net and got close but nope. Quite frustrating and depressing. I am so worried about him as we have dogs and coyotes in the area not to mention the freezing temps. He has no safe sleeping area.
We will keep trying. I’ll let you know if we succeed. As of right now though, he is stuffed with bird seed, meal worms, bread, bird suet, and honeydew. Ha

Do you have a fishing net? I catch my chickens with a fishing net. You do have to be careful to catch them on the first try though, once they realize what's up, they are great at finding a tree or bush to hide in where the net can't reach.

You might try only putting food in the dog kennel. He is fairly likely to go in after the food, especially since you are giving him treat like foods.

I did try a fishing net! And you are right, he was so trusting the first time, even curious what I was holding but a swing and a miss and off he went.
I will just toss his treats into the dog kennel and get him used it! Good idea. I’ll get that little stinker one of these days and hope he goes to a nice farm and gets to chase hens!

It's a typo!!! Doggie should be donkey, and burrow is a hole, burro is an ass.

This was just revised in 2022, you'd THINK someone would have caught that.

§ 6-201NONDOMESTICATED ANIMALS; DEFINED.
[Amended 1-18-2022 by Ord. No. 1298]
For the purposes of this Article, "nondomesticated animal" means any horse, bovine, swine, sheep, goat, mule, doggie, burrow, chicken, turkey, duck, goose, guinea, pea fowl, swan or other animal or fowl commonly kept for commercial or agricultural purposes. This section shall not pertain to mini -pigs.
With cities like Bellevue, what do you think the chances are that you could fight the ordinance? Is there enough people to? I know they allow 7 hens, I called and asked but for other fowl like ducks etc. I really don't see how there is a big difference if they are well maintained and not causing a nuisance.

I think a group just fought it, and lost, in Bellevue this past fall.
