Nebraskans Speak Up!!! NEBRASKA ROCKS!!

Pics
Dwegz!! Hey there! You need to post a pic of that roo for me. I lost my last splash orp roo a month ago, been trying to hatch his children but he was shooting blanks and all my girls are Old! I thought "I have such a very difficult time hatching splash and here dwegz got so many splash babies that time, wonder what happened to dwegz anyway".!!
Maybe I made u appear! I want to get some more splash orps, just a few, but mainly need a few hens. And maybe hatch and keep a roo from different bloodlines.
Oh and hi to everyone! I used to live in lincoln, then Malcolm, now I am right smack south of the border from Hebron on 81, in Belleville KS.

Oh and thanks for the compliments on my little showgirl, I just love her to death. I made her go broody as I had a couple pea eggs, that of course I broke, and they were fertile! Darn. So I gave here some silkie mutt eggs. I won't let her do again, she is getting to old, when I took her off nest she staggered and is very wak. Thank goodness she just hatched 3 little ones.

thdrdancr HI!!!

Oh my we must have ESP. I was thinking about you, wishing I had more sweet BBS Orp ladies. I didn't have a roo here, we had to rehome I think only 2 out of my hatch. I do have my favorite Blue Girl, Big Bertha, and a sweet little partridge silkie, Fluff. I also have a school hatch mutt, Peach. Big Bertha is still making about 3 eggs a week. Fluff makes an egg when she wants to. LOL

I wish I had more BBS Orps! Bertha went broody and I tried my hand at hatching some Marans chicks under her. I had one pip but Bertha and Fluff were fighting over the nest and I was gone that night. Next morning chick was dead...:( Had several more developed in egg but Scott said that they are hard to hatch. I was just SAD.

I am absolutely beginning a coop that I have been talking about for almost 2 years. UGH. Has to happen so I can expand my flock.

Big Bertha is a pretty bird, dwegz! I was hoping you might have a few more. I will be looking to get a couple later spring I think.

Right now I am looking for silver pied peahens, been looking for a while but all I have seen are over 6 hour drive or more one way. I have a guy I am getting some from here in Kansas, but they will be eggs or hatchlings. My boyfriend lives in Hawaii, thought about up and moving. Am visiting Honolulu right now, love the weather and flowers, but SO many people I feel a bit smothered. He is ultimate city boy, so not sure I could do it, unless I had a little private acreage, and those are pricey, just regular folk here so we don't have that kind of $$ and not sure he would be happy outside of the city. I need room to breathe, visiting is ok but he lives in apartment in Honolulu and I know I couldn't live like that.

Well, all of the eggs I hatched from you were for my local community garden. I adopted 2 when they had a change over of people in charge.
Honestly I believe they had too many hens in the pen. They were taking in homeschool or school group hatch rejects (the babies no one wanted once they weren't cute anymore). They had some mean RIRs, I won't ever own RIRs. The enclosed coop portion of the run was not finished correctly and I always felt sorry for the girls there. If I had had more room I would have taken more of my bbs hatch. Needless to say, I am no longer volunteering with the garden. I heard they hired someone from West Omaha to run the community garden in North Omaha. I don't play politics and nonsense well, so I decided to eliminate stupid people/situations from my life. LOL.

Fluff was getting picked on and Bertha was looking unhappy and was always my favorite over there, disposition wise.

If you get some more BBS Orps I would love another or two. I truly love Orps and the BBS are the most beautiful.

Hello fellow Nebraskans,

I live in Lincoln and got 9 chickens to add to my flock, but one of my chicks (BO) is a roo and I can't keep him in town. Is there anyone out there who would like a 5 weeks old BO roo? Just message me and it's a deal. He is free to a good home!.
