Neck feathers

before when my duck was young i would let him swim and he would swim after that hes neck itches and he scratches the feathers until one time all of the feathers under his beak to the neck was gone(i thought he had a sickness), after that he grew some adult feathers and he can swim now without the feathers falling when he scratch
who had same experience?

Yes, sometimes as a duck molts into its adult feathers it can look a little rough and scraggly.
