Hello folks,
We lost one of our backyard hens last night but need to ask those who have dealt with dead ones before.
She was laying on her left side entirely, wings closed and neck sprawled out.
Her body has no signs of injurty, and is in rigor mortis, however her stiff neck is completly floppy at the base and feels loose?
Is this normal?
Weve currently got a local who has stalked us at our address and made threats, police are involved, we wanted to make sure it couldn't have been someone breaking her neck?
Is the whole body/neck meant to be stiff? Why does it flop?
Is probably normal, but wanted relief by asking more experienced people so that frightening option can be taken off tue table.
Thank you.
