"Management of body weight and uniformity, reproductive development (ovary follicle growth and maturation), and drinking water sanitation are the best preventive strategies."

"Overfeeding broiler breeder hens during sexual maturation can increase numbers of large, yellow ovarian follicles. When hens have too many large ovarian follicles, a problem described as erratic oviposition and defective egg syndrome (EODES) results."

"Overweight hens may also have a higher incidence of erratic ovulations and mortality associated with egg peritonitis."

That excerpt w/ the description of the cooked egg and the overproduction of follicles - was that what the collection of egg yolk like globds of varying size was in one of my last pictures? It almost exactly describes my findings. I feel just terrible.

Her liver and heart look fine.

The main problem was definitely reproductive organs. The oviduct doesn't usually look like that. And the yellow lumps too are from the reproductive system. It's not easy to catch sickness a lot of times, since chickens like to hide it.

I'll have to look at the link Kiki posted, I've not heard of there being a way to prevent it happening.

Those yellow solid things in the abdomen are lash eggs, from salpingitis. The small nodules on the organs is probably a recent of widespread infection or egg yolk peritonitis. Ascites is a frequent symptom of EYP, salpingitis, and cancer.
