Hello! My name is Crystal and I'm new to raising chickens on my own. Before I had my father in law raising them with me. First time getting some pretty interesting breeds. I have barred rocks, sapphire gems, amerucanas, black austrolorps, and silkies. I only have 9 right now, and 16 I'm picking up in a few days. I'm super excited to be raising these babies up and getting some fresh eggs, also be giving eggs to my parents as they prefer farm fresh over store bought.
I live in minnesota outside of a very small town and love the small town country living. All of my neighbors are Amish as well. I have 6 cats and 4 dogs. And plan to have some horses one day. I clean and detail semi trucks, farm trucks and tractors for a farmer right down the road from my house, and my husband is his diesel mechanic as well. I have a son and the 2 sapphire gems that we currently have, chicken nugget and chicken wing, are his 2.
