need a buff orpington rooster in woodland ca

Last summer my dog killed my buff orpington rooster. I'm not sure why she went after him, my husband said he thought it was because the rooster had been acted like he was challenging the dog when she would go by my chickens. She hasn't hurt any of my flock since. My other rooster is a rhode island so now I need a good buff orpington rooster for my hens and hopefully someone can tell me if my husband is right. I live in Woodland CA.
