Here is the not so short story. My mother has given roosters to this young couple in the past. VERY sweet people. Anyway, the husband lost his job and they freaked out, trying to cut every corner and they ended up giving away all their chickens. He found a job where he is making half what he did then found out his wife is pregnant. Last week he was in a wreck and ended up in a wheelchair so I suppose even that job is gone now. His father is apparently staying and helping them out now until they are back on their feet. My Mom is giving them eggs until he can get some more chickens (which he really wants). We want to hatch some for them, but half my layers have gone broody (so we are just getting enough eggs to eat) and my mother doesn't have a rooster now. Soooooooo, I want to buy some eggs to hatch for this couple. I would like to get some that will be large enough to eat any extra roosters if they choose to. If anyone has some eggs they would sell cheap, please let me know.
