I desperately need help with my guinea hen. I noticed she was not following the other guineas as much and that her feathers underneath looked very wet. I picked her up and had my son take a photo and video and was shocked at what we saw. It appears to be some kind of injury or something around her vent and there are maggots. The smell is awful! I've done a little bit of reading already on this site and am not sure if she could have been egg bound initially or what has actually caused this. I was very disturbed to read that the maggots could be eating her alive right now. I want to know if there is anything I can do to help her or if she should be put out of her misery. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
