Need a duck intervention

Ducks are professional slobs. They fling water and feed everywhere and keep their brooder soaking wet (I have to change mine several times/day). While they've been inside they get play time in a hog pan I set in the floor of the shower. Thank goodness they are getting ready to move outside to their pen sometime next week. Then they'll have a kiddie pool or a small water trough and will be able to roam around in the goat pasture and orchard during the day. That being said I've got 2 Khaki Campbells and I love them- they've got great personalities and worth the mess (at least to me).

Hmmm. Probably not a good idea to have them in the same run with the chickens then,(since moisture is not a great thing for them)?

This is how a duck drinks water. This is nothing extreme or unusual...just a normal duck taking a drink...

Now do you understand?

That video was adorable.

I, too, would love to have ducks.

I just don't think DH would go for it because when I initially started into this poultry keeping I told him I only want 3-4 hens. I'm currently up to 6. Oops!

Crud. I was hoping the video would deter me from the whole messy duck thing.

But now I want some even more!!!!!!

The whole wiggle butt thing...so freaking cute!!!!

But, again, you wouldn't want all that moisture near your chickens, right? Like having a splashy pool in the run? Would't that be bad for my girls?
