This is just killing me but it's best for the chickens. I have learned so much from everyone here and you have all been great. I wish so much that I could keep them but I know these babies need a good home with a safe coop and a nice big yard.
My daughter hatched these as a science fair project and we were supposed to return them to the farm afterward. We found out later that the farmer "doesn't keep them" and I couldn't bare the thought of them being killed. My sister agreed to take them as she was selling her home and buying a new house on 5 acres with a coop and a place for her horses. With the housing market the way it is that hasn't happened so I have had the chickens for all this time.
They are 7 weeks old now and can't continue to live in their brooder. It's only fair I find them a good home. I do not know what breeds or mixes of breeds they are.
I tried coaxing my husband into letting me keep them but there are no roos allowed in town and with bears visiting on occasion and a long list of other pets in residence, he is putting his foot down on this one.
I have one roo and one pullet for sure....the third one I am 90% sure is a roo. I don't know what their breeds are but they are turning out to be so sweet and getting prettier all the time.
I am looking for someone in Northern NJ, that I can meet one weekend soon to give them a good home. I would like to keep them all together in one home and please someone who will love them and not use them for meat birds.
I am so sad to lose them.
My daughters and I have grown to love them so much
Please let me know if you're interested.
