I have a very sweet OEG bantam hen who came to our suburban backyard four months ago (she was a pullet then). She hangs out on my interior patio in a makeshift coop and loves to be in the middle of it with our dog and cat, and with us when we are out in the garden (just about every day). We wanted to appropriately coop her out in the yard (where she won't poop in the interior patio), and let her out daily to forage under supervision, but we are worried that she might be lonely. I am having a hell of a time finding a bantam pullet anywhere in our county or surrounding counties, and am wondering if it is even worth it. She seems happy now... do you think she really needs a CHICKEN friend? Thanks for any advice!

It sounds like she's getting the social interaction she needs. IF you really want to get her a friend it doesn't HAVE to be another banty. I'e got a banty in with my standars and she's fine.
