Check this out! Can anyone tell me what this little guy might have mixed in? Mom is theoretically a Black Copper Marans/ Buff Orpington and dad is one of 3 supposed Splash Copper Marans or one Black Copper. So.... What other genes are at work here? EE maybe?!

maybe orpington/maran? the egg isn't 'fun' colored like an EE or dark enough for a maran mommy (that could just be because of the season though) but it's really too early to tell. i'd love to see pictures when the baby feathers out a bit! i really like the little bit of wild-type coloring.
