Need advice/help for sick, dying flock

I lost the third bird today. She decline from this morning, I found her in the coop laying down panting. I tried to get some water down her with a syringe; I got some down but she must have been too far gone. I may go ahead a try the corid. I don't know what else to do.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

Is there any way you can send the body to your state lab for testing?

Are more of them unwell?

Please give a run down of what treatment(s) you have tried so far.

I would have to dig them up to send them to a lab as I already burried them. I'm not sure how to send a dead bird to a lab, I thought I would have to drive it up and it's 2 hours one way.

I started by removing the feed thinking the fresh bag I just started using may have something wrong with it.
After a day without any feed I introduced olive oil soaked bread and medicated chick feed. I removed all feed and water that night to see if crops were empty in the morning. None were, some were fuller than others. Some were soft, some were more firm like soft putty.
The next day (yesterday) I added electrolytes and probiotics to their water. A couple birds seemed a slightly more active today, but the majority are still mostly just sitting/standing around. Not terribly interested in food. All still having diarrhea. A couple have combs that seem droop over; I thought that was a sign of dehydration, but I don't know how that would happen with the amount of water they been drinking.

Start the Corid already.

Coccidiosis can cause crops problems.

Could someone have fed them something they shouldn't have?

I don't think so.

Do you have tomato or potato plants? They are deadly poisonous to chickens.

I have tomatoes but I'm pretty certain they didn't eat them. I don't know that they would.

I may do that today. Several birds appear to be improving, scratching around the run, and generally more active. Some are still lethargic, just sitting around.

I ended up losing 5 of my 10 hens. The remaining appear to be better but not completely back to normal. Still not sure what the problem was.

Did you ever end up using Corid? I had an issue with some 8 week old chicks. I know younger ones are more prone to coccidiosis than older hens but mine had similar issues and behaviors as yours. There also was never full on blood in the stool but the poop was absolutely disgusting and would just be liquid and I would see them eat and drink and have decent crops but than I would wake up and one or two would be dead. At first I thought it was an injury or or something because my birds were fine. Than I thought maybe they had eaten something or maybe it was the food. After losing 5 and changing a bunch of things I started them on Corid. I only lost two after that and now everyone seems to be A LOT better and they aren't pooping stinky liquid and they have all FULLY perked up. Some days they would seem like they were getting better and then they would still die. So I can only chalk it up to a Coccidiosis infection. After using Corid the remaining ones are getting back to normal..... better than when I wasn't using it and I thought they were getting back to normal.
