I cant get a pic of this until tomorrow because they are roosting in a hard to get to spot but i got three 15 week old pullets in the mail today. one of them (whitings true blue) must have flapped around quite a bit in her box because she has some poop stains on the back of her neck and top of her tail feathers. can she preen herself clean or will she need help? its cold where i am bouncing a bit above and a bit below freezing. should i do nothing? something? advice please:idunno

Ok so i did wash this big chunk out. i didnt notice it yesterday because i was trying to give them space. she was thoroughly dried with towel and snuggles in my snow suit which she really seemed to like. I actually has trouble convicing her to go into the run once she was dry! she actually came all the way out and then ran back in which was so indearing but eventually got her with her new sisters

As long as she wasn't cut, she should be fine?
I agree that that clump was a little too much and too close to her skin (and vent)
I imagine leaving it might have allowed more waste to pile on
