I think I ought to have added this to my comment

Just an update... All the eggs hatched today! 13 active little ducklings! Because of the cold weather and our set up with coop, etc we moved all babies inside to the brooder. All are eating, drinking, pooping and sleeping. So far so good!

Well Congratulations we need pics of course.

We had moved mom and the nest into a little closet type room that we use for goat stuff. I opened the door after the last baby hatched and she went out and never looked back. She's back with her mate and seemed happy to be out. And our boy duck is so happy to have his girl back! He seemed a little lost without her to follow around.

Keep the pics coming we love to watch them grow.

The mom is a young girl. Just born this year, March 1st. Maybe that had something to do with it.
Could be, I had one of my girls hatch and try to kill one of her ducklings, next year she was first to go broody so i am ready to step in and take the ducklings, she was an awesome mama. you just never know. Glad they are all doing well. Hope you have a Big brooder. lol
