Hi,
This forum was very helpful when I asked a question about hatching chicks, so I'm back! I have 9 assorted duck eggs on day 25. I am a teacher. The incubator is in my classroom. When I arrived to take them out of the turner, one had already hatched. I quickly pulled out the turner, and added water to pump up the humidity. The pekin that has hatched seems healthy and responsive to my voice.
Here's my question --
Can I unplug the incubator and take the whole thing home with me to watch them (about a 15 minute drive), or am I risking too much?
I really don't want to camp out in my classroom all night if I can safely transport them to my home. The pekin that has hatched has been out for a while, because he is dry and fluffy.
Help?
Thanks!
